Things To Pray For: HEART, MIND, and SOUL
How do you pray for someone’s heart, mind, and soul? Your spouse’s heart, mind, and soul are the things that brought you two together, minus one thing: your faith.
It’s not their good looks, charm, or money that won you over.
Moreover, it was the beauty inside them and their devotion to God.
To keep your marriage filled with happiness, it’s important that both you and your spouse remain whole in all these areas.
You can ask God to protect your spouse’s heart and mind.
Thank God for creating this person who you love so true.
Then ask that their soul be filled with all the good things that God wants for their life.
Pray For Their FAITH
Without faith, what do you have?
How can a marriage grow without a strong devotion to God?
It’s essential for both you and your spouse to remember to stay true to your faith during the ups and downs.
You can ask God to bless your spouse with a pure heart.
Ask God to protect your spouse from others who may try to break them of their faith.
Hebrews 11:6; “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
As a couple, the two of you can ensure you attend church services (online or in-person), together on a consistent basis and continue worshiping God in all ways possible.
Things To Pray For: COURAGE
It’s only human to find yourself suffering from fear every now and then.
Fear is a common human trait, especially when it’s of the unknown.
Pray to God and ask that He give your spouse the courage they need to live a purposeful life.
Deuteronomy 31:6; “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
With God by your spouse’s side, there’s nothing to fear.
Ask that God show your spouse the ways to maintain courage in their faith and in their everyday life.
HEALING From Past Trauma
Past trauma can have an impactful effect on a person’s daily routine. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can come in many forms due to different triggers.
One person’s trauma and PTSD symptoms might not be the same as someone else’s.
This could be childhood trauma, trauma from fighting in a war, past relationship trauma, or something else.
Isaiah 43:18-19; “Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”
Ask God to heal the wounds in your spouse’s heart.
Moreover, to heal your spouse’s scars and traumas.
Things To Pray For: HEALTH
Corinthians 6:19-20; “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
Without God, you would not exist. God gave you life and gave you your bodies to live in.
Because of this, it’s crucial that you maintain good health as best as you can. Ask that God watch over your spouse’s health.
You can also pray to God that your spouse finds healing from any health issues they might be suffering from.
- And all the rest
Your spouse’s future is your own future because the two of you are now one whole unit.
Praying for their future, not only in your marriage but in life, is important.
Ask God to watch over your spouse as they grow through life.
A Blessed future for your spouse means a Blessed future for your marriage.
When you ask God to open doors and lead you toward the life He wants for you.
Your requests will be granted, your prayers will be heard.
Things To Pray For: CALLING and CAREER
Career and Calling.
The two may go together in some cases.
Your spouse’s career is not only beneficial for your home’s finances. It’s also beneficial for your spouse’s happiness.
Finding your calling and or excelling in their career could mean more money, sure.
More importantly, it means growth for your spouse and for your marriage.
Proverbs 22:29; “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”
This type of growth might mean an incline in leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and many other wonderful skills. You can pray to God to bless your spouse’s career.
You can ask God to give them the wisdom and strength needed to succeed.
Pray that the leadership that supervises your spouse has reverence for God and for loving their neighbor as they would themselves.
Pray that The Lord gives your spouse wisdom in all areas of their life.
Make it a point to read Proverbs with your spouse each day.
Proverbs 3:13-18, “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.”
Things To Pray For: YOUR CHILDREN
Pray with your spouse for your own children and the children of parents around the world.
Mark 10:13-15, “And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.”
Your children put their faith and trust in you.
Pray to Jesus Christ that He watch over them and that your children walk the straight and narrow path with God for all their days!
THE HOLY SPIRIT
Once you have confessed that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of your life, when you pray and ask Him, Our Father in Heaven will send The Holy Spirit, The Spirit of Truth to live in you!
John 16:12-15, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
The Holy Spirit will speak to you the words of Jesus Christ!
There are no words to describe it.
Moreover, you will be amazed to hear the words come out of your own mouth, for they are not yours, they are Christ’s relayed to you through The Holy Spirit.
